Pros

  • Highly customizable
  • Advanced technical features
  • Best-in-class security
  • Connect an unlimited amount of devices

Cons

  • A modest number of server locations
  • No live chat for customer service
  • Expensive
  • Not optimized for streaming services

Perfect Privacy Security Features

Perfect Privacy offers high-level coverage of your basic VPN security. They have a strict no-logging policy and do not save or record any of your data. All your internet traffic is protected with 256-bit encryption and thus safe from third parties. Finally, your true IP address is replaced with an address from the Perfect Privacy network which always protects your real location and identity.

Kill Switch

Perfect Privacy offers a highly customizable Kill Switch feature to ensure your data stays protected in the event your VPN connection drops. There are three different options for configuring your Kill Switch depending upon the level of security you need.

Multihop VPN

Multihop VPN is one of the most powerful security features available, ensuring you stay protected from sophisticated cyber-attacks. This feature is found under the “cascading and stealth tabs” on the app. Here you have the option to send your encrypted traffic through four different servers, making your traffic near impossible to track. Each time your traffic leaves one server, it’s re-encrypted and assigned a new IP address upon arriving at the next server. The cascade of server hops is fully customizable, meaning you can select the route your traffic takes.

Supports Multiple Protocols

Perfect Privacy is compatible with OpenVPN, IPSec, PPTP, SSH2 tunnels, HTTP proxies, and SOCK5S proxies. You can easily switch your preferred protocol in the app settings.

TrackStop

TrackStop gives you more control over your internet privacy and is included with your subscription. It offers high-performance advertisement, malware, and tracking blocking. Additional features include a child protection filter where parents can block access to inappropriate content, a fake news filter to block access to untrustworthy news sites and a social media filter to block access to specific domains.

Stealth VPN

Stealth VPN disguises your VPN traffic as regular HTTPS traffic thus concealing your use of a VPN. HTTPS is the default protocol used in regular internet browsing and is rarely blocked in public networks. Hiding your use of a VPN is necessary for countries with extreme restrictions on internet browsing such as China, Iran, UAE or Turkey or when using a VPN in countries where it’s illegal to do so.

Connect an unlimited amount of devices

This is a definite bonus of Perfect Privacy as most other competitors limit the number of devices you can connect simultaneously under one account. Being able to connect unlimited devices makes this a good choice for large households with lots of devices to protect.

Not optimized for streaming

VPN users looking to stream from Netflix or other popular sites should look elsewhere. In a recent test from TechRadar, Perfect Privacy was unable to unblock U.S Netflix and BBC iPlayer. Other VPN competitors offer servers that are optimized specifically for unblocking and streaming content at a much lower price. While Perfect Privacy offers great security, it’s not the best choice for streaming.

Server Locations

Perfect Privacy offers 36 server locations in 26 countries which is average at best. The majority of their servers are in Europe with coverage in North America, Australia, some parts of Asia and the Middle East.

Speed

Seeing as I had read reports of people getting decent speeds from Perfect Privacy, I thought that we would get good results as well. Unfortunately, I was not able to achieve these results. Here at the Get VPN office, we have 300Mbps internet connection, which averages around 281Mbps. When testing Perfect Privacy, I was not able to achieve speed higher than 50Mbps, and that is being generous. Also, it is important to note hat your speed does decrease when sending your traffic through multiple servers with the Multihop feature. This is due to increased latency.

Ease of use

Perfect Privacy offers an easy-to-download app with options for both beginner and advanced users. Beginner users will find it simple to connect to the best server available in one click. Advanced users will appreciate the flexibility and fully customizable service that the app offers with its various features and settings. Their app interface is functional but unspectacular and quite dated looking.

Compatibility

Perfect Privacy is compatible with the following systems:

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Android
  • Linux
  • iOS

Perfect Privacy offers apps for Windows, macOS, and Android. iOS and Linux users must manually configure their service. It’s also compatible with routers.

Pricing Breakdown

Perfect Privacy is one of the most expensive VPN services on the market. They offer three payment options based on the amount of time you commit to their service, the 2-year plan being the best deal. Here’s the full price breakdown:

  • 2 years – $8.95/ month
  • 1 year – $9.99/month
  • 1 month – $12.99/month

With more than 60 payment options through Paymentwall, Perfect Privacy has you covered no matter what country you live in. They support all major credit card companies, PayPal, Bitcoin and many other methods, including cash. There’s no free trial, but they do provide a 7-day money back guarantee.

Customer Service

If you have a question or need help with set-up or troubleshooting, Perfect Privacy has multiple options. They have an extensive collection of step-by-step guides to assist you with set up or to help you configure a more detailed VPN connection. They have FAQ guides to answer the more common concerns. They also have a community forum in which their users ask and answer questions. One downside to their customer service is that they don’t have a live chat. If you want to reach their support team directly, you must send them an email.

In Conclusion

Perfect Privacy is an expensive service more aimed at experienced users. Perfect Privacy goes well beyond the basics with unique features such as TrackStop, Multihop VPN and Stealth VPN. Another big bonus is that you can connect as many devices as you want with one account. Perfect Privacy is not great for those looking to stream Netflix as other competitors have servers that are optimized specifically for streaming at a much better price. Additionally, beginner users only needing the basics may wish to look elsewhere for a cheaper and more user-friendly service.
